Womendetention (“we”, “us”) supports women held in ICE detention. We respect your privacy and collect as little information as possible. This policy explains what happens to your information when you visit womendetention.com, donate or contact us.
What this website does not do
- We do not use cookies.
- We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools.
- We have no user accounts, sign-up forms or comment sections.
- We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.
Hosting
The website is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like any web server, GitHub may log technical data such as your IP address when you open the site, for security and operational purposes. We do not have access to these logs. See the GitHub Privacy Statement (opens in a new tab).
Donations
Donations through the donate button are processed by PayPal. When you click it you leave our website, and PayPal handles your payment details under its own privacy policy (opens in a new tab). We never see your card or bank details. We may receive your name, email address and the donation amount, and we use them only to record the donation and, if needed, to thank you or send a receipt.
You can also donate via Zelle directly from your bank app. Those payments are handled by your bank and Zelle; we only see the sender’s name, the amount and the memo.
When you email us
If you write to elena@womendetention.com or kseniia@womendetention.com, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it only to reply and to help. Our email is provided by Google Workspace.
If you contact us about a person in detention, please share only what is needed at first. We treat such information as confidential and do not share it with anyone without your permission, unless we are required to by law.
Links to other websites
Our site links to Instagram, Telegram and PayPal. These services have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle your information.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time what information we have about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. Just write to elena@womendetention.com or kseniia@womendetention.com.
Children
This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update it on this page and change the “Last updated” date above.
