No woman should face detention alone
We are volunteers supporting women detained by ICE — with everyday essentials, books and magazines, and help staying in touch with their families.
About us
Womendetention is a volunteer initiative supporting women held in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention. Many of them are far from home, often without money or a way to reach their families.
We send essentials, books and letters, help women stay in touch with their loved ones and make sure every woman knows she is not forgotten.
How we help
Three ways your support reaches women in detention.
-
Basic needs
Funds for commissary, hygiene items and other everyday essentials inside detention.
-
Books & magazines
We send books and magazines — something to read, to learn from and to keep hope and a connection to the outside world.
-
Family connection
We help with phone calls and letters so women can stay close to their children and loved ones.
